Job requirements

The Role
We are seeking a Senior SDET to join our product development team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our front-end and back-end systems. Working hand-in-hand with developers, product managers, and operations teams, the Senior SDET will help shape our quality-first engineering culture and ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across both front-end (React) and back-end (Java) components.

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end, integration, and API test suites using scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Work closely with engineers to create testable user stories, acceptance criteria, and test plans.

  • Own the automation strategy for the product development team, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines hosted on GCP.

  • Collaborate across departments, including Product Management, Operations, and the CTO, to ensure high-quality releases.

  • Advocate for a shift-left approach to quality, encouraging unit, integration, and functional test coverage throughout the development cycle.

  • Use tools such as Postman and Playwright to support test coverage for APIs and UI workflows.

  • Identify, isolate, and track bugs quickly and efficiently, and contribute to improving incident response through test automation.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in software testing or software engineering with a focus on test automation.

  • Proven experience building automated test solutions across both front-end and back-end systems.

  • Strong scripting skills in one or more languages, including JavaScript, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Experience testing REST APIs, ideally using tools such as Postman.

  • Familiarity with modern web technologies, including React for front-end and Java for back-end development.

  • Experience with Playwright, Selenium, or similar browser automation frameworks is a plus.

  • Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools, such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with product managers, developers, and operations teams.

  • Strong sense of ownership, commitment to quality, and dedication to delivering excellent user experiences.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on skills and experience.
